Editor-in-Chief and English Editor
Martha Cleveland-Innes, Athabasca University, Canada
Dr. Martha Cleveland-Innes is Professor of Open, Digital, and Distance Education at Athabasca University. She is Editor-in-Chief of the bilingual Canadian Journal of Learning and Technology, and the co-author of open source publications The Guide to Blended Learning (2018), Participant Experience in an Inquiry-Based Massive Open Online Course (2022), and Principles of Blended Learning (2024). The Design of Digital Learning Environments: Online and Blended Applications of the Community of Inquiry was recently co-edited by Dr. Cleveland-Innes (Taylor& Francis, 2024).
As a principal investigator, Martha received funding from SSHRC’s Canada First Research Excellence Fund to study Wellness outcomes and education participation for sick children from marginalized populations (2024-2026). In 2019, she received an Honorary Doctorate from Mid-Sweden University, the Leadership Award from the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education and later served as a member of the Advisory Group for Digital Literacy with the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education (2021-2022). Martha was the Virtual Educator in Residence, National University of Singapore (Fall, 2022). She has held major research grants supporting research on the technology-enabled student experience. Her research interest areas include 1) online and blended learning, 2) artificial intelligence and online communities of inquiry, 3) higher education reform and lifelong learning, and 4) leadership in education. She is currently Visiting Professor of Pedagogy at Mid-Sweden University (2018-present). For more information, see her Athabasca faculty profile.

Jocelyne Françoise Le Ber, Athabasca University, Canada
Jocelyne Françoise Le Ber is a distinguished expert in French literature whose research delves into the transformation of mythological figures in theatre and the concept of "hatred of the other" in French literary works. She has contributed to anthologies on Beur literature in France, published by Éditions l'Harmattan, and is particularly interested in computer-assisted textual analysis. A prolific author, Dr. Le Ber has published four books and numerous articles, skillfully combining traditional literary analysis with contemporary perspectives on socially relevant themes. She currently teaches French literature at Athabasca University.

Carmen Jensen-Tebb, Athabasca University, Canada
Carmen is a graduate student in distance education at Athabasca University, where she also serves as the Contract Project Administrator in Open, Digital, and Distance Education in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences providing support for special projects, collaborations, and the education massive open and online course offerings of Blended Learning Practice, Designing for Communities of Inquiry in Online Courses, Leading Change in Teaching and Learning for a Digital World, Learning to Learn Online, Learning to Learn Online Express, and Technology-Enabled Learning. Carmen manages communication with Journal authors and reviewers, as well as incoming manuscript reviews, reviewer selection, copy editing, and manuscript preparation for publication.

Dan Wilton, Athabasca University, Canada
Dan is a doctoral student in distance education at Athabasca University, where he also provides instructional design for massive open online courses, research assistance, and web initiative development including the OER Knowledge Cloud in Open, Digital and Distance Education in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. His research interests include networks and networked learning, MOOCs, and learning analytics. Dan manages the OJS platform and publishing of issues.

Jenine Hawryluk
Currently an AU EdD student, Jenine has taught in China, Japan, Korea, and Canada, and has worked as a face-to-face, blended, and online instructor in the field of English as a Second or Other Language and teacher training. As the Director of Training for a non-profit organization, Jenine helped create blended training for TESOL instructors preparing to go overseas to teach English, and most recently has taught academic writing online to students in Lithuania, where she could explore both the synchronous and asynchronous possibilities. Jenine's main interest is pedagogy and teacher training related to TESOL and intercultural education.
Yi (Lucy) Lu, B.Eng
Currently an AU M.Ed. student, Lucy works in Ontario as a contract Faculty member in the architectural design and construction program. Designing and delivering face-to-face, blended, and online courses, Lucy is learning and incorporating emerging technologies both in architectural design and teaching. Conducting pedagogical research is a passion: her first action research project was to investigate the impact of listening to classical music on student performance. In her spare time, Lucy loves to explore the wonders of the Canadian wilderness through camping, hiking, and canoeing.

Carol Sparkes, PhD., Thompson Rivers University, Canada
As an Instructional Designer, Carol enjoys designing student-centered online courses at Thompson Rivers University, in Kamloops, British Columbia. Carol has studied and worked right across Canada starting in Newfoundland and Labrador. Achieving a PhD (Ed Tech) from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec has been a recent highlight.
